Pregnant and alone

When I was pregnant with no one to count on for help the only resources I found was the local Department of Human resources and the WIC office,  it was hard to find special programs to help me at the time. I was embarrass and scared to the horrible new world I had found my self in. Being pregnant and alone without financial stability, work skills and no emotional support my pregnancies was the lowest point of my life, full of judgment and ruined comments and question. Overnight I went from being a carefree young person with nothing in the world to worry about to having no idea where I was going to live or how I was going to get by, and no clue what I was in for once my baby was born. You just can’t know what I felt like, unless you have been there yourself.

Finding help and a new life

With the help of a College program that helps single parents with getting ready to at the entrance exam, for college level courses and child care, along with finical aid and non-profit origination's I was able to go to college for the first time and gain skills to aid in finding a better job for my self and my baby girl. For once in the long time I had hope it was going to be OK and I would be able to make a life for me and my daughter. Without the help of others I would have never gotten to where I am today. Thank you to all those who helped me and others like me.
